I bought an Xbox HD DVD Add On drive back when they ran a promotion with buy the drive and get 3 free movies off the shelf. So I bought the drive for $180 (using an old gift card I had) got three movies (plus King Kong in the box) and five more free by mail.
Then when Best Buy ran their deal for HD-A2 for $99, I picked up one of those for $89 (using a RZ coupon for 12% off) and got three more free off the shelf. I sold the Xbox Add On for $110 (keeping all the movies -- including King Kong). And got five more free by mail ... Then HD DVD throw in the towel -- and Best Buy sends me a $100 gift card for the two HD DVD hardware purchases. Awesome! So I guess in the end I spend $60 for an A2 and 17 movies -- not bad. |
