I've seen many references on a lot of boards to Harrison possibly becoming a serial killer- but it doesn't really make sense. Dexter (and his brother) became serial killers b/c of the trauma of seeing their mother butchered when they were both very young; genetics plays no role in it.

Did you not watch the season 4 finale? Harrison was standing in a pool of his mother's blood after she'd probably been murdered right in front of him. He HAS had plenty of childhood trauma.

But he was very young- less than a year old- right? Too young to be traumatized I would think.

I would disagree. I'd speculate that Dexter is wired differently than us and that the trauma is just the trigger (yes, a very important component) that sets things in motion.

That's what I thought before he shared too much information with Laguerta last season. If he does he'll keep is mouth shut, I don't think he cares about Laguerta's death.

From the start of the episode, I had a theory that

[Show spoiler]Deb would end up killing herself near the end of the series because of the guilt she had, similar to Harry. However, I didn't expect that she would try to this quick.

Did you guys all catch the trailer for next weeks episode? Seems like Dex is very angry at Deb for the

[Show spoiler]attempted murder/suicide in tonight episode. Could this lead to Dex going after Deb, killing her, then having a breakdown that leads to him being caught?

So you think there's a genetic as well as environmental component to serial killers? How do you think he's wired differently?

My view on Vogel has changed. She's clearly a psychopath with no real emotions, but it appears she's not directly a killer. She just lives out her fantasies by creating/molding other psychopaths and uses them to further her career as an author.

It's proven that psychopaths have a very different brain. Than most of us, I'm no expert but I've read about this a while back.

You are correct. Many scientific studies have proven this. A lot of it is genetic but typically requires a major childhood trauma to trigger a psychopath.

Interestingly enough one of the people doing a major research project on the brains of psychopaths had his own brain scanned and discovered his brain exhibited all the symptoms of a psychopath. On NPR he said he digged in deeper into his family tree and found out something like 10 ancestors of his within the past couple 150 years or so had murdered someone, one of them being Lizzie Borden. While the researcher himself had never carried out any real crimes he did interview friends and family and discovered to his surprise that he those around him had a much lower opinion of him than he thought. Many of the negative things they had to say about him were tell tale signs of a psychopath.

We just had a great experience w/ DIRECTV which we've had since 05. I wanted to know about their programming of their show of ROGUE. They couldn't find any new upcoming info, but the CS, as we were talking in general about programs, he was giving me a 'trailer' of sorts on DEXTER, on & on to how great it is. We don't have SHOWTIME, a long story short, he waived 6mths. of 1 of our hd dvr's & added SHOWTIME/STARZ pkg. for 3mths..

They also gave us a deal(I think we will be paying $3 more) on a GENIE & they will be coming out to fix that up this week! very & !!

So I can check out DEXTER & RAY DONOVAN(never seen either) for 3 mths.!!!
