The BD is getting something CALLED a special edition. Is it?

As you imply, the Batman Begins feature being offered must change in some way for us to get a BD optimized encoding. And the same holds true for any of the titles people are wondering about.

I hope they(Universal on Blu-ray) bring Heroes, redone. The HD DVD is nice but some parts are nasty, lot of banding (Subway scene from the Future is a nice spot for that), artifacting and rarely but it's there Macroblocking in darker scenes...

This info came from someone supposedly in the know at a certain former Red studio, so I'll post it here. How accurate does this statement sound: The Spiderwick Chronicles will be the first BD title released from said studio.

He's from the Digital Bits, which is a very influential home theater site. He has a lot of inside contacts and often is the first to bring us news about upcoming titles, often with exclusive details.

Yes, that was a reference to him in that "Downfall of HD DVD" parody video on YouTube where the leader of HD DVD, played by Hitler, screams that with the Warner defection "the Digital Bits will spin this and make us look like a bunch of fools", which leads to a woman consoling another crying women by saying, "Don't worry, dear. Bill Hunt would never do that."

That plays off claims from HD DVD supporters that Bill Hunt was biased against them. If you ask me, he bent over backwards trying to be objective, but it just became more and more clear that HD DVD had the losing hand but he enraged HD DVD partisans whenever he acknowledged that fact.

Bill, need your opinon on my previous post thread but want to copy my 2 cents and paste here to see what your thoughts were! Id appreciate an response thanks Mr.Hunt

I can understand you hearing people rely on sound. BUT need of DTS-HD Master Audio and PS3 update for it IS NOT IMPORTANT!

There are children who are having problem with hearing, or with any kind of learning disability NEEDS Closed captioned. Sony Playstation 3 does not have that feature and I feel that DTS-HD Master Audio can wait because you already have sound PCM or whatever. How can children understand movies or cartoons without closed captioned watching Disney on DVD or Blu ray with C.C. (not subtitles) Closed captioned provides subtitles for Deaf and hearing impaired (SDH) feature, not all Blu-ray discs are SDH and few non SDH Blu discs have CC meaning movie wont recongize any kind of background noise or whoever speaking in different language.

Not only for children, there are various age people watching movies with their ps3. Also, not many people have receivers, speakers or any kind of equipment that support / use DTS-HD Master Audio. Why? Maybe they can’t hear or have hearing problem and need understanding with Closed Captioned.
I mean, PS3 cost a lot money and they don’t have C.C and why didn’t they add that feature for ps3? Playstation 2 does play CC with any dvd. Why?

People would not buy HDTV(s) if it doesn’t have speakers and they would demand for the company to make a TV with speakers. What about us, who can’t hear or understand movies without Closed Captioned? THIS IS DISCRIMINATION! I have nothing against DTS-HD MA, but this is not fair they receive update for it. I am happy for you guys to have it but not all people are happy with next update.

Stop being and arse.

Go read The Digital Bits for awhile to determine for yourself that Bill and team are awesome.

He wasn't being an arse.

The "Hilter vid" is the gag re-sub-titling of a scene from a movie where Hilter is in the bunker and gets bad news about the war. The sub-titles are changed to the Warner dropping HD DVD situation. Bill is mentioned.

Watch here

The colour timing of the Troy theatrical release was all wrong, absolutely terrible, it was a complete failure which is why they announced a DC so soon after the initial release. Even so, don't expect redos for any titles as of now...
Sorry for asking what may be a dumb question but are we talking the HD-DVD release of the Troy theatrical cut or the theatrical release of Troy? I'm really interested in colour timing

if you know he is from the Digital Bits then that is all that is needed. If you read back he was a straight talker and gave a lot of info. Most HD DVD supporters hated that about him and the bits so they tried to vilified him. Any time there was info about BD or HD DVD (since most BD news was positive and HD DVD not so) there would be tons of threads saying how no one should read him because his articles are full of propaganda. I am guessing that “BH is evil for not being a mindless HD DVD fanboy” of some red ants is what the video was making fun of.

What are the chances of the PCM Superman Returns showing up anytime soon? Or pretty much anything Superman related (the missing smallville season 5, Lester's Superman 2, etc.)?

The Digital Bits is reporting that Image Entertainment is set to release the film 'Caligula' on Blu-ray later this year or early next, with other titles to be announced soon. If you don't know what 'Caligula' is, don't worry, most don't. The film was financed in part by Penthouse and goes into great detail of the reported sexual deviances of Roman Emperor Gaius Julius Germanicus. No specs have been announced at this time, or what version of the film will be printed to disc. We'll keep you up to do date when we hear more.

Any UPDATE about this movie? Can you find out when Image Entertainment is going to release. (this is early next year) Q1 is almost over. I am hoping for unrated and remastered 4 discs set.
WHATS UP? :rock

Caligula is the only movie that borders actual storytelling with talented actors with hardcore porn. Some of the scenes were simply unbeliavable.
