1080p games

I just went HD (TV and PS3) in February. My Bravia "tells" me what the images on my tv are running on (ie; 720p, 1080p etc.) When playing warhawk (which is supposed to come in @ 1080i) it only came in 720p! When i called customer service they told me I had to shut off the 720p option manually so that i could get 1080i!!! now what kind of sense does this make??? does anyone have this problem and if so do you have to manually shut off 720p through the xmb like me? I find this really foolish considering that a majority of ps3 games are in 720p! who the hell wants to keep switching the resolution everytime they go from a 1080 game to a 720??? hopefully PS can fix this with a patch, because if your tv doesnt "tell you" whats being displayed, your being shorted on true HD!
