If the story was going to take place right after Return of the Jedi, I'd have loved to see a completely new cast and crew, right down to the roles of Luke, Han and Leia.

Kind of like how Ewan McGregor plays Obi-Wan in the prequels.

And I really wished John Williams wasn't going to compose for the new movies.

No disrespect to JW, his music is a cult phenomenon and his legacy is undisputed. But I figure since George Lucas was finally going to hands off Star Wars, we should look forward to a new generation of filmmakers tackling Star Wars. Michael Giacchino has collaborated well with JJ Abrams, I would hate to break the momentum and friendship between them. We should keep an open mind and not discount changes altogether.

I mean, as long as Justin Bieber is not playing Luke Skywalker, how bad can it be?

Sith or not, doesn't mean a new Empire. The saga could be about the Mandalorians or some other threat!

They already said this new movie will be all new material. Not book adaptions.

I guarantee there will be a "bad guy", and that bad guy will, most likely, have some affiliation with:
A) The remnants of the Empire
B) The Sith
C) All of the above

And if they are casting for Mara Jade, and guess where she was introduced?
While Abrams and company might not adapt Heir to the Empire, I'm quite certain they will pull heavily from it.
Guess will find out for sure, as we get closer to 2015.

2015, can't wait to check this out. Star Trek Into Darkness turned out great thanks in big part to Abrams and his crew.

As long as the actors don't have wooden performances as a few did in Ep I, II and III, we'll already be in good shape. I think direction has a lot to do with the performances captured. It's up to the director to get the best performance and know it's great, from his actors.

Ewan McGregor will be great to see again as Obi Wan. He was awesome in the prequels and helped a lot thanks to his believable performance.
