Moderator note: I, Frankenstein was released on 3D Blu-ray in several countries but please note that the UK Blu-ray edition was badly manufactured and discs are now failing, so that is the one to avoid. No issues have been reported with any other edition but this is a known issue with many Entertainment In Video discs released around the same time.

With Halloween a week or so away, I figured I'd post the following news:
Fans of Underworld Awakening 3D, Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters 3D, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter 3D and Priest 3D to name a few, take note:

Pre-orders of the upcoming theatrical fantasy action movie I, FRANKENSTEIN 3D, produced by the makers of the Underworld series with Kate Beckinsale, will likely open up January 24, 2014, the same day I, Frankenstein 3D hits theaters in the US and other Countries.

JANUARY 24, 2014: Blurb:
I, Frankenstein 3D (action fantasy 3D) from the Producers of Underworld. This stars Aaron Ekhardt (Two Face from The Dark Knight) as an @ss kicking Frankenstein warrior with cutting blades and fighting evil in the form of Gargoyles and monsters. Looks very cool. Only caught the 2D trailer before Escape Plan today. Due January 2014 in theaters. Can't wait.

The U.S. release was set for February 22, 2013, but five months before then it was moved to September 13, 2013. In February 2013 it was announced the film would be released in 3D. In April 2013 the release date was moved again to January 24, 2014.On September 17, 2013 it was announced the film would be digitally re-mastered and released in the IMAX format.


Keep your eyes out for the theatrical 3D (and 2D) trailer, now in theaters (played before Escape Plan) and hopefully playing before Thor 2 3D this November.
