Movies get traded around so much by companies... but I think these are still MGM:

- Ice Pirates
- Lord of Illusions
- Diggstown
- Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins
- Robot Jox

I have all seasons of TFTC. I would love to condence all those into some neat and tidy Blu's.

I debated blind-buying The Horror Show for a bit but took the plunge during the Importcds 10% sale. No way I would've gone for it for the nearly $24 that Amazon is charging (WTF?) I'm reluctant to blind buy studio-produced horror films from the late 80's-onwards. Couldn't make up my mind with Arrow's PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS, either. Short of a handful of exceptions like Candyman, this era just wasn't the horror genre's best time IMO.

Hmm.. Sure about Ice Pirates? I think Warner Bros has this one. Would love to have it on blu-ray.

I have been a little out of the 'blu-ray game' here for a little while since the last two weeks of November up til now. So I'm behind on some titles I've been wanting so last night I decided to cross one off the list and get on Amazon and pick up "Assault on Precinct 13" from "Scream Factory." It was gonna be that or "Night of the Comet."

Now I noticed something, which I'm wondering if anyone can explain, but both of those titles, "Night.." and "Assault" have seemingly went up in price as opposed to what the Collector's Editions used to have cost. I bought "Assault" and with the most basic shipping it came to just over $30 which never before has a "Scream Factory" title cost so much to me, atleast on Amazon.

Obviously, this won't stop me from buying from them, just wondering why the increase, if anyone has any insight?

Holy Amazon prices recently!

In the past few months I've fallen behind on collecting the SF releases because there was such a deluge of them. Now I can't even keep up with the CE titles because they're going for so much

Ive heard a lot of people slipping up on their Collector's Editions recently.

They might want to dial it back, spacing out the Collector's Editions more, while still keeping their deluxe packaging, etc. going into 2014.

Don't want to over saturate the consumers, they wont be able to get everything all the time.

I have no idea why Amazon's price skyrocketed that close to MSRP, but personally I'd probably hold off for a price drop or shop around for a better price. Amazon's prices can rise and drop at seemingly random intervals, and sometimes multiple times in a single day.

You might also consider adding it to your blu-ray.com price tracker so that you can be notified when the title drops into your preferred price range.

Definitely agree. Especially if they still want to focus on "Old-school" horror. It's not like there's a never-ending amount of titles for them to release. I couldn't believe it when I heard the proposed number of releases for 2014. It's crazy. Quality over quantity. Please. (At a certain point though, I think it has to do with them remaining competitive and obtaining and releasing titles before the competition. Kinda sad that it's so cutthroat out there...)

Regarding Amazon's prices, that's their call - I'm not sure what's going on. $19.99 has always been my price point - that's what I get them for at my local Hastings.

I'd love Lord of Illusions and Diggstown from Scream/Shout respectively. Diggstown is a pretty good sports, comedy, drama. Bruce Dern played a great villain for James Woods to take on.... We need more Dern goodness....let's get Down Periscope, but that's with Fox....

B&N supposedly will have a 40% all blus sale coming up in the next few weeks, so I plan on buying some more titles then. That will make them $18 each (hopefully less with some coupons).

Fyi, their Scream Factory titles in-store don't have slips, but everyone that I have bought from them online came with a slip.

Stores must be tossing them. Collector's Edition titles are the only titles to potentially have slipcovers, but I'm sure you already knew this.

Instead of waiting to see if SF release Black Xmas in a new master I just bought the German blu. Same master as US disk but meant to look better as its been cleaned up and BD50 used so less compression shown.

I heard the German blu of BLACK CHRISTMAS looks the same as the old blu. This needs remastering if it's ever going to look better.

Was going to order Saturn 3 this morning from Amazon and it was $22.95. I believe it was $20.95 last night or the night before. I held off until lunch time today to order it and the price went up to $26.36 WTF's going on with Amazon and these prices lately?

Anyway, I going to stop at Barnes and Nobles on my way home today to see if I can find this title since the Movie Stop and Best Buy in may area don't have it in stock.

Can someone confirm if this comes with a slip cover?

What are the features on the German disc of Black Christmas?
I have the Critical Mass/Somerville House US blu-ray.

I love the art for it though, didnt they use it for Alamo Drafthouse's re-release a couple years ago, too?

As a non-CE I'd assume it doesn't...

Apparently, B&N's 40% sale will run from Dec 17 - 21 (according to a poster in another thread), so you may want to wait until then.
