Nope, that's a trade-off.
Plus you're not getting any of the several tweaks that Pioneer has made for the newer firmware codes.
According to the release info of the 1.05 and 1.08 firmware files they also made several performance improvements. No idea if the the difference is noticeable though. I have a chipped version so perhaps we could do some comparison.
