I want Cat' Eye on Blu-Ray but not with any other films in any kind of collection set. There are one or a little more things that can be put in an SE if they can be done or even found.

I meant individual releases under a common banner.

Ok. Many of the people who like it are still waiting for a scene taken out after it's original test screenings as a feature for an SE if it found.

I don't consider the 35th Anniversary Edition even remotely close to "definitive". Although I don't think it was intended to be.

Anchor Bay is intentionally milking every single Halloween release, including 4&5. They know people will line up to buy the 40th Anniversary Edition anyway, so why give all the goodies away at once? Which sucks for the fans.
I agree. For starters, it would be nice to have ALL of the various extras going back to the Criterion laserdisc all contained on 1 or 2 blu-rays (including the extended TV version). Regardless, I'm sure Team Blu (with Dark Jedi) would consider creating their own.

Although, for the most part, I would like to see Scream Factory focus on films that haven't already received GOOD and inexpensive blu-ray releases already, or those that never made it onto the format (dvd or blu).

I'd even go for a truly, truly Definitive Halloween release, before everyone involved croaks.
I could go with a Blu-Ray release of the Ultimate Edition of Dawn Of The Dead. That was supposedly one of AB's planned second wave of titles (along with Hellraiser II, Re-Animator and Phantasm). It was the reason I'd held off on buying their initial release. I made sure to grab a copy once it was apparent they weren't going to be doing anything more with it (and unfortunately, the Arrow release was out of my price range at that point).

No,please! There is so many great horror movies from the 70s and 80s,not available on blu-ray and dvd. Why should they rerelease these movies on blu-ray? Especially when their current releases are good enough. I want and hope Scream Factory are going to release some more obscure horror titles in 2014.
I totally agree, and I wouldn't mind a few titles from the 50s and 60s thrown in as well Hopefully if the new deal with Shout and MGM comes through, this will happen.

Why not both, though? If they can do re-releases, as well as new titles, why not do both? It's not like one deal would cancel out the others.

Why would Scream Factory re-release an already well done blu ray release ?

If they were to do that, then they should look for titles that were released barebones while the DVD counterpart had tons of extras such as Escape from NY..or a movie that had lousy PQ such as Near Dark..

The Evil Dead films have been milked so many times, while some havent been released at all in any real disc format in the USA (Without Warning, Endless Descent, Half Human, It Conquered the World)

Then of course there are DVDs that are just *Scream*ing to be upgraded, and rightfully need it such as Fright Night II , Watchers, Watchers II, Planet of the Vampires, etc

1.) Halloween 2 would like a word with you.

2.) Neither Dawn of the Dead nor Army of Darkness has had a proper, well-done BD release in North America.

I agree with that.
All three of those films would fall under they need better blu ray releases. Those are the kind of blu ray re-releases that would make sense
Halloween II was an upgrade for sure
Dawn and Army also fall into that Escape from NY category where the best extras/additions are still on the DVD release. All we need is one good definitive release of these movies and Im done buying them

Im talking about re-releases to movies that already have excellent blu ray releases necessary like Evil Dead 1 & II - no need to waste time releasing them again, although Im sure Anchor Bay will do yet another Evil Dead and Halloween release down the road

Even Flash Gordon needs a better blu ray release here !

Personally, if there's an improvement from Scream on any of the previous releases that have been mentioned, I'm in.

Can't wait to see what titles we get from the new deals.

If there is another universal deal I expect the burbs, anything else would be a massive disappointment. As for titles that have yet to see even a DVD release I would really like the Brain and highway to hell

If Dawn of the Dead or any of the Evil Dead films happen to become available again, Scream Factory will probably at least kick the tires a bit, previous editions notwithstanding. Scream Factory is in business to make money, and these films seem to live amongst the golden geese of horror.

That being said, none of these films are likely to happen any time soon. Richard P. Rubinstein seemingly wants a mint for Dawn of the Dead (if he hasn't already licensed it elsewhere), Universal apparently doesn't want to license out Army of Darkness, and Evil Dead and Evil Dead II are already licensed to companies that don't currently sublicense films to Scream Factory.

Add Matinee to the list. The more Joe Dante, the better. (If they could put out a set with Piranha, The Howling, The 'burbs, Matinee, Amazon Women on the Moon, etc., I'd shit.)

Oh man, I'm with you there. Especially for Matinee.

As an aside from the wishing and hoping - regarding Scream Factory's release of 'From Beyond'... For those of you who really enjoy the film, could you possibly tell me why? I keep finding myself looking at it, but I'm unsure if I want to pull the trigger or not. What is it about the film that you love/hate?

It's wonderfully weird. It's like if you crossed Re-Animator with Slither and added some S&M stuff.

did you like Re-Animator?

if so, odds are good that you will enjoy From Beyond...

This sums it up perfectly. It's a blast!

Plus Barbara Crampton in leather... Need I say more?
