I would like to do this to my German steels so the spine matches my BB FF6 SB and also so I can get that damn backwards spine from the SB's. |

Printed out some artwork for my Highlander steel today. Used a version of the International poster and thought it turned out quite well. I just used the front and back as I didn't want to work on the spine for fear of tearing it up. I like it so much that I'm eventually going to try it in color...I just don't want to use up my ink right now.

I finally got brave enough to disassemble a steelbook today. Used a credit card to pop the plastic out, then a hairdryer for 30 seconds and a thin blade pop the art off the spine. Worked pretty well but the glue was stubborn.
Does anyone have suggestions on a) A more effective alternative to Goo Gone and b) Size and brand for clear double-sided tape for the spine art? Thanks to everyone who contributes to these threads. Good stuff. |

So I followed the steps in post #506 and when the image prints it is a little too small. Is there a difference between US Steelbooks and Others in size? Thanks so much Fast Fish for the help but it seems either the template is too small or my printer settings are off. I am having a hard time with this.

Nice job James! It definitely takes a couple times doing this to finally figure out how to not damage the steel. I find you have to be very patient but I'm OCD so I go real slow. Lol. It takes me like a good hour to do one steel. Curious, how long did it take you to do all 10 of those?

![]() [Show spoiler] very nice job, as much as I dont like the movie the HULK one is pretty badass. While I personally would love to do the spines, I just dont want to ruin any of my steels and as you pointed out alot of great images have all the artwork focused in the middle where the art kinda gets lost. Which is why I try to do like you did for the sherlocks where if I'm missing anything by not having spine done its only blank space that doesn't take away from the inside art created. I do however look forward to a tutorial video from you in the future. You've also reminded me there are about 8 steels I've been meaning to create artwork for. Thanks |

Curious to see how you remove your spine. I think it's removing all the left over glue that's slowing me down. I use goo gone but still takes time. How do you take off the left over glue?
