Itunes and Apple TV

I download all of my movies, put them on an external hard drive, keep them in iTunes in the movies playlist. Then on Apple TV i got to the computers and it loads my library, then there is a list of music, movies, TV shows, and podcasts. Your movies should all in that list and play fine. If they downloaded in HD they will look great, and if they are SD they should look alright. I got an Apple TV in late 2012 and love it. if ever download any music videos from iTunes they work too.

Also, when you go to your Apple TV and look under your purchases, you should see those films in there to stream to the device. If a movie that you purchased isn't there, and you have downloaded the movie file to your PC, then you can turn on home sharing that will use your network to stream that file to your Apple TV from your PC. Home Sharing is also a good option if there are extras that you want to watch on your TV like the commentary of Star Trek into Darkness feature with the IMAX scenes.

How did you get Star Trek into Darkness extras to play on Apple TV? My Home Sharing is on and extras don't show up.
