Excellent. We've been discussing the listings in the Godzilla thread. Initially they were listed as DVD's, and this being Sony I figured there's no way they'd release all of these on BD at once, especially at those prices. I'm glad to be wrong about that

Get your pre-orders in now before they go up, $14 for 2 Godzilla films straight from Sony is a bargain

I am very excited by these, but at the same time I am very disappointed. I would prefer single releases of all the films, but I will take what I can get. I just hope they do them justice.

Like I said, I knew it the whole time...now we hope that these movies have
1)Japanese language with English subs
2)OAR in the case of GvsKG and GvsMothra
3)UNCUT endings with Akria Ifukubes score

Lets hope its not the SOS just on blu ray from Sony

If they're on 50GB discs why should it matter? At this point any opportunity to cut down on shelf space is more than welcome.

What will the aspect ratio be on these?

AFAIK Sony treated all of these right in converting them to the U.S. market -- right aspect ratio, "Toho approved dubbing" and they weren't cut much (if at all).

I wish GODZILLA 2000 was among them -- that was a lot of fun and frankly the tongue-in-cheek dubbing of the U.S. version added to the entertainment value.

Good price. Preordered all of them despite having never even seen a Godzilla movie before. I do like to watch some tokusatsu from time to time.

I also preordered all 9 upcoming German Blu-rays of which 5 of those movies are included in these Sony double packs lol.

This is actually really great. The only Heisei movie we'll be missing then is G84/5.

Hopefully G2000, Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla (Kiryu) and GMK will come down the pike

It would not surprise me to see these three come and in a *deluxe* box set with some of the 8 movies getting released. I remember getting the Godzilla DVD as singles and a few months later came Godzilla the Ultimate box set with the Heisei and Millennium films. Come to think of it, several box sets came out and some had the same movies in it

Said it before and I'll say it again. This and the other titles they are not releasing yet will probably come out around the time that the new films blu hits shelves and most likely all be single releases.

Most of all it matters because a few of them will be out of order in the double packs. Im personally hoping for two blus per pack that way I can make custom cases for them.

With these coming out and the licensing of Hedorah/Gigan/Ebirah I'm really curious where things stand for Son and Mechagodzilla. Holding out on the Minya! (though he is in Final Wars)
