I'd also be worried about him failing another substance abuse test and ending up missing the full season.

I'm sure that will just about void his contract though. The Pats wouldn't have signed him without strongly protecting themselves in the event that happens.

I'm not worried about that aspect. But what is the backup plan? Or is Browner the backup plan? He wasn't very good last year, and he's out the first 1/4 of the season.

Next man up. They shouldn't be overly concerned since they have Revis. Kyle Arrington is a serviceable backup from what I understand, but I don't see many Pats games, so I'll let the Pats fans on here answer that.

I would expect them to take a corner in the mid rounds of the draft too... maybe Jean-Baptiste. I know he's been drawing comparisons to Sherman and that's probably a bit extreme, but he's only played corner for one year and had some pretty good production. His measurables are great and he will only improve.

Cam Newton can't be overjoyed right now. Although I have read that Steve Smith wasn't very well liked amongst the Panthers and won't be missed. I guess he was a douche off the field as well as on it.

Steelers really botched it last year by matching the Patriots offer sheet when Emmanuel Sanders was a restricted free agent. If they weren't going to sign him to a long-term deal (which they couldn't afford) then they should have just let him go and taken the Patriots third round pick as compensation. With or without him they weren't going to be a Super Bowl contender, so they should have just built towards the future.

If you ask me the moves the Pats have made in free agency have been damn good. Revis: Signed, Edleman; Re-Signed, WR Brandon LaFell: Signed, Browner: Signed. I know Browner has some questions but teamed with Revis New England is solid at CB and recievers will have their hands full. And the Pats still have enough cap room to sign more if they want. Personally I wouldn't. Time to go through the draft and pick up some good young players. But again I am happy with what the Pats have done so far. Keep it rolling.

Some interesting news about Emmanuel Sanders and his shady agent

Front office executives around the NFL are reportedly "fuming and crying foul" over Emmanuel Sanders' decision to sign with the Broncos.

It has nothing to do with the Broncos, but everything to do with Sanders and his agent. Sanders reportedly agreed to terms with the Chiefs earlier in the week before his agent took that offer to Tampa Bay and engaged in talks with the Bucs. The 49ers had a visit set up with Sanders before he and his agent blew it off. "This was one of the worst situations in modern football negotiations," one executive said. Another said Sanders' agent, Steve Weinberg, broke "every rule in negotiations." What Weinberg did isn't against the rules, but it's commonly accepted that once sides agree with a handshake or in writing, the deal is set. Weinberg has two clients currently in the NFL.

Rapoport says Weinberg was recently reinstated by the NFLPA after being barred and decertified in 2003.
