Buena Vista Home Entertainment (BVHE) is the umbrella for Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Miramax Films and Dimension Films. In this case, "Kill Bill" was a Miramax film. Jodi |

Yes it's Buena Vista that distributes all of Disney, Miramax, Touchstone, etc films. An awful lot of people just use the Disney name, albeit loosely, because it's a very widely recognized name. Rarely do DVD websites refer to an upcoming Buena Vista release, rather nearly all of them I read will refer to the disc as being a Disney release.
Put me down as definitely buying Kill Bill Vol. 1 on BD the day its released. I wonder if Vol. 2 will come out the same day. I liked the first better anyway but I do want them both. |

We didn't think too much about it when we put the movies section up. As all those movies were part of the Disney/Buena Vista press release it was natural to put "Disney" just to make it clear which titles the studio had comitted. We're open to changing it to Miramax, I'll take a second look at the movies section later.

Where is it?! >:O Seriously though does anyone have any late information on it? Other than it was "postponed" or whatever.

Maybe buena vista thought sin city was potentially a bigger title?

Yep, they've been showing the box for this for a few CESs now, but nothing concrete yet. Same with Armageddon. June 5 is when the Bruckheimer wave of movies hits BD (The Rock, Con Air, & Crimson Tide), but Armageddon is a noted absence.
Speaking of Bruckheimer, isn't there a new National Treasure movie coming out? I bet we see the first one on BD in December from Disney. Diane Kreuger is certainly easy on the eyes. ![]() |

I would guess they are saving up some blockbusters for another big holiday season. This goes for all studios. Holiday 2007 is going to be big for BD with better and cheaper 2nd gen players, HDMI 1.3 receivers and of course PS3. By the holidays, more PS3 games will be out which will result in more console sales and of course more potential BD owners.

Kill Bill did nothing for me but then I don't seem to like any of his movies.

I've said this before: hopefully by holiday 2007, Sony Music execs could get off their asses and re-release their best selling titles as well as upcoming releases on SACD.
With new HDMI receivers and PS3 users, SACD could make a second launch but this time with more hardware presence built-in. Hopefully Disney will release Kill Bill as two seperate releases. 1) Sell both volumes as one SKU and 2) Sell both volumes as different SKUs. fuad |

It should just be seperate releases. There would be a better chance of more content that way. If they used 2 DL-BD that would be amazing. Hopefully when they decide to release it they will change it to 16:9 instead of all this 2.35 crap that's been coming out.
