DVE HD Basics questions.

ive heard lots of good about it and know calibrating is important and have already done rough calibrations on my optoma hd80.

but i went and picked this up on bluray(duh) today at bestbuy.

and lil jerk there tried to tell me that calibrating doesn't do anything and the disk doesn't do anything and that all calibrations made yourself go away when you turn the power off and all sorts of other douchebaggery mumbojumbo.

i thanked him for his input and told him ill waste my money on it anyways.

so i guess basically whats the word?

this disk any good or did i just piss my 25 dollairs away?

i by default assume that since he works at bestbuy, is an idiot and probably a drug addict. but.
i try and keep an open mind hence this post.
