There are several shows that veer off from the manga, which later get a reboot that is stricter to what's on the pages.

Fullmetal Alchemist -> Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (certain ranks and other plot points differed from the manga in the original anime)

Dragonball Z -> Dragonball Z Kai (not really a reboot, just filler removed)

Soul Eater -> veers off from the manga after the first few episodes, but I don't think it's been rebooted or will any time soon.

Rurouni kenshin -> After the Kyoto arc, it goes off to do its own thing (season 3). The Kyoto arc was rebooted into a 2-part OVA, but it's pure crap. What they should have done instead (but didn't) is add the Enishi arc.

Sailor Moon -> Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal

There's probably others that I'm missing.

I just finished watching episode 6 on Hulu and it seemed to be a lot blurrier than the previous episodes they uploaded. Is the original blurry or could this be due to Viz's restoration?

Crystal (the reboot) will be airing. Viz has Stars (season 5), but we've got a long, long wait to go.

That will be cool to finally see an English dub of Sailor Moon Stars, I know that we have a long way off before that happens, but that will still be interesting to hear the U.S voice talents do the characters again.

I wonder if they will bring back the old cast for the new dub or they will just go with new actors?

I can guarantee it'll be the latter.

The long interview they gave sort of suggested they had some surprises (in relation to the dub). Might be that one or two of the VA's from the old dub are returning but most of them are not.

You can already hear the new actress at the end of the Viz promotional clip.

It could either be

1. Your stream at the time

2. The Hulu stream compression

3. The master that was provided by Toei

I'd say it's the latter, considering the sound in episode 2.

Saw one of the episodes online and thought that they did a good job cleaning it up.

And I wonder how many years it's gonna be before the last set is released? 10?

Doubtful. There will probably be a set every two or three months. If it's every three months, that's four sets a year. I imagine there will be around 12 sets. That means three years and all of it will be released. At every two months it should all be available in two years.

I don't know why VIZ can't do what NISA is doing with Cardcaptor Sakura, release the whole thing at once.

12? Half-season sets for five seasons is ten volumes.

Because nobody's going to buy a giant 30-disc set for several hundred dollars. CCS is only nine discs.

Correct. There will surely be a set for the movies though as well as a separate set for all of the specials. Everything was licensed. That should make it twelve sets.

Aren't you just assuming it would be 30 discs? It could be less if they did a giant set and put more episodes on each disc.

Zatoichi is 27 discs, and it's selling.

It's also only a third or fourth of what a complete Sailor Moon box set would cost.

Based on the trailer... the animation looks like a far cry from the original. I also noticed they decided to make all of them stick-thin which doesn't look right, IMO.

I'll still check it out, but I doubt this will be anywhere near as good as the original. I hope it's still a decent new series. I'm glad the original VA for Sailor Moon is returning.

Character designs are similar to how they were in the original manga, which the show will also stick closer to. Takeuchi always had issues with how much the anime deviated from her source material.
