I would love a 60fps version of the new trailer like Naugthy Dog has done with The Last of Us remastered trailer.

Arkham Knight Scheduled for Feb 24th, 2015 Hope this is not true as Witcher 3 drops that day

Quote:
Batman: Arkham Knight may be released on February 24 next year, at least if a listing by Microsoft is anything to go by.

The Xbox One creator may have revealed the new release for the final chapter in Rocksteady's series slightly prematurely following its delay earlier this month.

While it could just be a placeholder date, those are usually positioned at the end of a quarter. Until Warner Bros. decides to announce anything officially however, there's no guarantee it's legit. If it is, then this means it'll be out on the same day as The Witcher 3, which would certainly be an interesting decision for Warner to make.

Would love to see Batman release on that date but I doubt WB would have to of their games out on the same day.

Batman: Arkham Knight Red Hood DLC exclusive to GameStop

An exclusive batch of story mode DLC will be available for customers who pre-order Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham Knight at GameStop, the retailer announced today.

GameStop's "Red Hood Story Pack" DLC introduces Batman series vigilante Red Hood as a playable character, and features a number of exclusive single-player missions. GameStop pre-order buyers will also receive the Harley Quinn Story Pack, which bundles an additional playable character and four challenge maps.

Today's DLC reveal follows up on GameStop's recent announcement that it would fund unique DLC for featured games. The Arkham series has a history of experimenting with retail- and platform-exclusive content; the PlayStation 3 version of Arkham Origins hosted exclusive Knightfall maps, and Arkham City's Catwoman DLC served as a retail-focused incentive to curb used game sales.

Batman: Arkham Knight will hit the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms in 2015.

I'm still going with Best Buy myself since this will probably end up being released later on, now if this falls under the whole gamestop funding the development of content i'll think differently.

Depends how much the DLC is. You might not save any money (or just a buck or two) if you do the GCU if you end up spending $15 on DLC. How much was the DLC for the last batman game?

The DLC will probably end up in the Season Pass, so that's what I'll get. I despise Gamestop and will never give them my money. The sooner the industry stops kissing their asses with this exclusive DLC bullshit for their money that they rip off the customers, the better.

This could be quite the paradigm shift if Gamestop pulls it off.

To me if they were smart they would have gotten exclusive rights to the DLC for funding it (assuming this is part of that initiative).

Then I'd make sure that the DLC was never in the season pass or offered on the online console stores - I would only offer it as a DLC card 1-2 months later and only at Gamestop. That way even if you don't buy the game from them you'd still need to come to GS to buy the DLC.

I'm torn on this personally - if Rocksteady had no plans for a Red Hood DLC, GS came to them and said "we'd like some exclusive DLC and we will pay to fund development, think about some ideas and come back to us", and then Rocksteady came back with the Red Hood idea, they all agreed, and the Rocksteady threw a few additional programmers just on this - I think I'd be fine with that. I'm not fine with it though if Rocksteady was already planning it and had it in their back pocket and basically cut it out of the main game.

The problem is we'll all never know which it is and just have to trust the studios and GS that it really is "over and above content" that they are funding.

I think its wrong to just assume the season pass will cover the GS exclusive. The season pass for Injustice didn't cover any of the retail exclusive content for that game when WB released it. Ditto on Batman Arkham Origins

And the industry kisses GS' asses with exclusive DLC? ALL the major gaming retailers get exclusive content and in the US that's Best Buy, Amazon and Wal-Mart.

But Bestbuy Walmart and Amazon are not well known throughout the world as ripping off customers with obscenely low trade/buy back values on games. Maybe they've improved on that, although I doubt it.

Was it Wal-Mart, Best Buy or Amazon who went and bought all those copies of some rare ass game and then jacked up the price to close to a $100 for "pre-owned" copies?

I forget.

Extreme GameStop Pricing Leaves Some Fans Calling Scam

GameStop is charging a whopping $90 for used copies of a Wii game—and it's leading some fans to voice some serious suspicions about how it got back in stock.

Xenoblade Chronicles, a Nintendo-published RPG that came out for the Wii in April of 2012, has become something of a collector's item for several reasons: only a limited number of copies were printed, for one, and the game was only sold through GameStop and Nintendo's online store. Copies of the game have proven tough to snag, and although it originally sold for $50, hawkers are getting much more on used game marketplaces like eBay.

And then there's GameStop, which sells pre-owned copies of Xenoblade for $89.99. It's the most expensive used game they've got, not counting bundles.

As of a few weeks ago, however, buying Xenoblade from GameStop was just a pipe dream; the game was impossible to find. But GameStop recently restocked their stores with nothing but pre-owned copies of the game, according to their website and multiple stores. Their supply has increased in some way over the past couple of weeks—as of July 31, you couldn't buy either new or used copies of Xenoblade online, yet today, the new option has been removed, and pre-owned copies are in stock.

I called a bunch of NYC GameStops this morning, and employees at three stores told me that within the past two weeks they received new shipments of used Xenoblades, which they'd happily sell me for $90.

One GameStop source tells us the retailer printed a few thousand copies of the game with no shrink wrap in order to restock their inventory, then labeled them as pre-owned. Reached for comment, a GameStop rep told us they're looking into it. We'll update when they get back to us.

This is ridiculous. It'd be one thing to sell a game for $90 because it's very rare, but when GameStop is the only retailer with access to inventory, and when that inventory has suddenly been restocked, this sort of price inflation is obscene.

Xenoblade is also now heavily promoted on GameStop's website, and the product listing has been updated with all sorts of new info about the game's characters and features.

One Texas-based Kotaku reader said GameStops in his area have also recently received shipments of Xenoblade, and that he bought one this weekend. He says the condition is just like new, and that the included Club Nintendo code was unused.

People on message boards like NeoGAF are reporting similar stories, saying their local GameStops have suddenly received pre-owned copies of the game, and that they feel new. Many also say the included Club Nintendo codes were unused.

Since GameStop is the only retailer to sell this game—it's no longer available in the Nintendo Store—they can control the supply, and price accordingly.

We reached out to Nintendo for comment early this morning, but they haven't gotten back to us. We'll update if they do.
