Oh, also, for those people complaining about the new/alternate/whatever timeline, they almost HAD to do that.
In ST-Prime timeline, this is early-TOS era. So, when it comes right down to it, we all know how everything turns out in the big picture. It takes a LOT of stuff off the table. With the new/alt/whatever timeline, now ANYTHING can happen. Maybe the Federation and the Cardassians end up allies against some outside force, and there is no war. Maybe Bones dies in the next movie (it won't happen, but you get the idea). Everything is now on the table since it's a different timeline. |
