Yes, this is correct. I own PS3 since May 5th. It is huge difference between dvd and Blu-ray. On Blu-ray with HDMI output, it provide more details on the pq. Depend on what kind hdtv set you have. Some people have 1080p, while most of us have 1080i. I have 1080i, tough, still big difference and best picture, more details than dvd format.

So, I strongly recommend Playstation 3 60gb, due to benefit of update firmwares via wireless.
