It could yeah I won't deny that...but also wouldn't be surprised if it lingered for a week or two. Nightbreed actually had years of outcry and petitioning behind it. Christine was 3,000 copies only...also I don't remember was there even a limit on how much each person could buy? But I won't argue with you that it could very well sell out in under 24 hours it also depends if they limit the amount per customer. We shall see.

Christine had a limit of 10 per customer at the start (I know, that's high), and then after maybe 1,000 or so copies sold within an hour or so, they reduced the limit to 2 per customer (or maybe it was 3). I think THE BLOB will have a limit of 3 from the start now that it's 5,000 units. If it were 3,000, the limit may have been 2.

Yeah that 10 per customer thing had to have been taken advantage of by some scalpers which is why it didn't last very long. If they put a 2-3 cap on The Blob I'd imagine it would stick around for a while.

Christine, Fright Night, ... they are all getting reissued plus released internationally as will this cabal cut at one point. Yes it is great to have a pre-order for Nightbreed LE, but chances are a UK or German company will get the rights for it and either do their own extras or port it over from Shout. Patience is a virtue. If you want to pay double or triple the price for these releases which aren't even released... your mistake. I saw on ebay that a handful of people have already bought the LE at insane prices, this was before the 55 $ pre-order on amazon and cheaper prices at other webstores. Of course I'm sure these are international buyers who panicked and jumped the gun in order to secure a copy.

As for those crying they wont be able to see the new version, the standard edition will aside from the new version also feature extras so it's not as if you're missing out on a lot (IMO).

P.S. why do online stores like best buy etc. list the LE as DVD? Isn't this confusing to customers lol, also I was under the impression the LE had all blu-rays?

You seem confused. The director's cut IS still easy to get and anyone can get it for around $20 right now. The limited edition has the extra bonus features disc and the theatrical cut which Warner licensed out to them hence the high price and limited nature. The theatrical cut will get re-released on it's own eventually yeah but who knows when that will happen. A year from now? 3 years from now?

I think it will sell out faster than Nightbreed, but how fast depends on what purchase limits TT implement.

Not at all, for me the LE will be mostly interesting for the bonus features disc as well as the director's cut, the theatrical version will be nice to have but I'm hoping the DC will make it redundant. As for how long it will take for re-releases, given they are doing a Nightbreed tv series, I doubt it will take 3 years, also given how fast the LE is selling out. I'm sure the theatrical release will find its way onto blu-ray again soon.

so this is funny, i'm in canada and i saved 20 dollars buying this off the american amazon vs. using the canadian one.

but with the Halloween collection, i'd save 10-15 dollars buying it off the canadian site instead.

this is why i always check both sites before i buy anything from em!

You could always return your LE and just buy the regular edition if you're that worried about the movie sucking and not being worth your $55.

I just look at sold and that gives you auctions and buy it nows that have sold and I don't see any for 80 dollars. On Jul 10 one auctioned off for 314.00 with 36 dollar shipping!

this is an expensive blind buy for me, but if that amazing cover art is any indication, this looks to be a brilliantly creepy horror film, like a cross between The Strangers and Hellraiser

If you go in expecting a creepy horror movie you may be disappointed, since
[Show spoiler]the monstrous characters are the "good guys" in this movie, the only "bad guy" on the cover is the human serial killer in the button-eyed mask. It's more along the lines of a dark fantasy movie with some horrific interludes involving that killer, along with some other bigoted humans.
