The TV had a firmware update to allow 60p playback of 8-bit 4:2:0 4K material, so I'm good(ish) in that respect.

Damn, I wanted to avoid giving Sony any more of my money for the FMP-X5 box, but I might get it just to have a look at that 60p footage.

….asking about what would the resolution of the DCP be, given the tech specs….http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2872732/...ef_=tt_dt_spec

Answer – expect your local D-Cinema to get a 2K DCP for this feature film.

"Technically" this is filmed in three different resolutions, 2.8k, 4k, 5k, probably for the IMAX shots? Either way all are higher then full HD so I would hope they received a 4k DCP for this film!

I love Luc Besson films! I hope he makes another space movie like the Fifth Element or Le Femme Nikita, Leon... God I love Leon, one of my top 10 movies!

BTW, I never PMed you?

Here is a link to a section of the HDMI website which has a chart showing what HDMI 2.0 can do at maximum bandwidth.

I like how honest the EBU is and they seem to have a good plan that a combination of features will be needed to make sure that UHDTV is successful.

"I commented, not private messaged you?"

I suspect the HDMI committee will release a new HDMI revision just in time for the next Olympic games with full 4k60p capability at 12 bit 4:4:4 and 8k 10 bit 4:2:0!

They have to or manufactures will opt for Display Link 1.2/1.3, which some TV's companies are already implementing! At least the 1.2 revision...

Didn’t say you did, PM came from another member. I simply liked quoting your prefrontal cortex association ("intellect") as a tie-in for the post about Lucy.

For instance…. impressive early list to which Deluxe has recently been added – http://sportsvideo.org/main/blog/201...-dolby-vision/

Thanks Richard , somethin is better than nothin. Actually, somewhere I have filed an ‘unofficial’ chart of total TMDS throughput vs. signal, color depth, bit, HDMI 1.4, and HDMI 2.0 designated as 2.0b and 2.0a which I thought would be helpful….just can’t find it.

They’re beginning to get frustrated in that they see no serious movement by some of the involved players (other than public lip service by executives and reps using buzz words) with regards to real interest and resources ($$) allocated to actually developing WCG, HDR and HFR.

They fear the TV manufacturers will *milk to death* just increasing spatial resolution (to 4K) solely……as the only parameter of UHD for way too long a time. It's not just honesty, it's a gentle, respectful prod.
