Will Tenneray (Kirk Douglas) and Abe Cross (Johnny Cash) are two aging, famous gunfighters, both in need of money. Cross rides into town, having failed as a gold prospector. His reputation is such that everyone expects him to shoot it out with Tenneray, who capitalizes on his legend by working at the saloon to "sucker fools into buying drinks." To the town's surprise, Tenneray and Cross take a liking to one another. There is no hostility between them whatsoever. However, Tenneray is desperate for money. He comes up with the idea to stage a duel to the death in a bullfight arena, with the ticket proceeds going to the winner. What transpires inside the arena turns out to be more than just a gunfight.

I would really like to finally see this film. I've heard about it for years. My dad always used to talk about seeing this movie at the drive-in. I've tried to watch it on Youtube but I would much rather see it in HD. It was released theatrically by Paramount, but the only DVD copies I can find online are budget releases featuring a full frame presentation. Since Warner is releasing some of Paramount's old library, maybe they'll finally put this one out on blu. I mean, how can you pass up a movie that touts Kirk vs. Cash?
