Default Viewing Photos via blu ray disc?

I've been searching the internet, but can't find an answer. Hopefully someone here can help. Can you copy jpeg files to a blank blu-ray disc (assuming you have a blu-ray burner) and then view the photos on a Blu-ray player/Playstation 3? I've read where you can do that via a regular cd or dvd, but was hoping I can do it using a blu ray disc, since it holds up to 50gb, I can keep all my pictures on one disc.

Thanks
