It wasn't Dalton's fault that the scripts were bad, he was still an excellent Bond

My second favorite Bond film of them all is The Living Daylights! Dalton is my second favorite Bond.

I was shocked as anyone how fantastic Casino Royale was! It had to be an amazing film to rise to the top of all Bond movies. And Craig is the perfect Bond. Hardcore rugged action man that can wear a tux and woe the ladies at the same time. Impressive.

I have many on DVD, and Casino Royale only on Blu...personally, I don't think I'll be buying this set, or any more of the older bonds on Blu.

I'll definitely get THUNDERBALL. I am satisfied to have FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE on DVD. Though FOR YOUR EYES ONLY is my favorite Roger Moore, I don't think i'll get this one. DIE ANOTHER DAY should be an audio Tier 1 or 0 choice, however the movie sucks so badly it's not worth the investment!

I agree, I wouldn't waste my money on DIE ANOTHER DAY. However with the rest of the first batch I'll cave in. From what I've been hearing from the recent screenings of some of the Bond films at the Ziegfeld, these 4K transfers/restorations (downrezzed to 2K DLP) look amazing.

Oh thats why. I also read it could also be because it doesn't really fit with the Bond films because it is a remake of Thunderball

Not only was Never Say Never Again a Warner Bros. release, but it was also an "unofficial" Bond film as well. The film was a remake of Thunderball, but with some differences, as far as Kim Basinger and Klaus Maria Brandauer playing renamed characters (Domino Petachi and Maximilian Largo, respectively) from the characters (Domino and Emilio Largo) used in Thunderball. It was also the first Bond film in which Felix Leiter was played by an African-American actor (Bernie Casey), 23 years before Jeffrey Wright played Leiter in Casino Royale. Plus, in 1983, Never Say Never Again was in competition with the official EON Roger Moore Bond film released that same year: Octopussy. At the time, the media called the situation "The Battle of the Bonds".

John Lowry's work on these movies is simply astounding. The first 9 were restored at 4K, the remainder at 2K/HD.

I cannot wait to see these on my 133" projector screen!

It's a shame that the new 5.1 mix of Thunderball is so embarrassingly bad, with sound effects that sound nothing like the film and often not even matching the action on-screen. It might be the most incompetent Bond remix out there. Which is a shame, since the 5.1 mix created in the late 90's for the laserdisc and first DVD is nearly perfect. It preserved all the original sound effects, kept the proper music sound levels, but expanded everything to 5.1 in a natural but totally enveloping way.

I would love to see that sound mix make it to blu-ray, but since it wasn't done by Lowry, they'll pretend it doesn't exist.

As I recall, it was originally an Orion release, but when Warner got their hands on the home video rights, they stuck their logo all over it. Nowadays, it belongs to MGM Home Video, which won it in a lawsuit. But out of respect to Eon productions, they do not market it as officially part of the Bond series (which it isn't).

I think those covers look pretty cool compared to what we got for the Ultimate Edition sets. Unfortunately, that really awful head replacement on Halle Berry is still featured on Die Another Day's cover.
