We are supposed to have 4K format hitting the market in 2015. When do you think we will start hearing about the 1st wave of releases - and what do you want to see? Hopefully it doesn't take long for the boutique labels to step up once the format is *officially* finalized.
Some of my most wanted discs on 4K: (i.e. catalog titles that seem highly realistic) 2001: A Space Odyssey Lawrence of Arabia Blade Runner Star Wars Original Trilogy (since it looks like I'm skipping this on blu-ray, might keep waiting for 4K) Samsara/Baraka (skipped on blu, but I'm sure this will instantly be reference material on 4K). From there, I just hope that we get boutique labels stepping in and driving demand for some deeper catalog titles to get new 4K scans (particularly ones that were not treated well on blu-ray). |
