Seems to be happening more these days, probably people bailing when called for a raid. I had two leave on me tonight immediately after the Mars strike began. I figured I would attempt it myself. Got down to the boss, hid in the stairwell and started sniping him for 10 minutes when 2 new guys joined in and we finished. Naturally, they both got better loot than me.

That doesn't level you up any more. Each time you fill that yellow bar, you now get a MOTE of Light which is special Currency.

That's the blue bar that shows up when you hover over your "level 20" on the left. The right level is the yellow bar that relates to Light.

Well, I joined up with some random people (Yes, I meet strange men on the internet) to do the VOG and while we eventually get to the end, we couldn't finish atheon, people kept screwing up.......after a couple hours I left and joined another group in the same spot, and after a couple more hours, still couldn't do it. It's not that hard, I don't know what happened. I felt like I was doing my part, it's just that other people kept dying and leaving us short handed on the outside......I started about 6 and figured I would be done in a couple hours, ended up going until 12 and still never finished, lol. The good news is I got enough ascendant material to finish maxing the VOC and most of my armor so I'm sitting at about level 29.5 now.

On the plus side, I feel a lot more experienced now, lol. I ended with 900 kills for the night, half of those were the first group all the way through but not finishing, and the other 450 were just harpies at atheon....I killed so many harpies! I had more kills than the other 2 combined, lol. I woke up with a headache this morning, likely a side effect to harpies.

Did it on first try too lol well second. Someone didn't die to start and aggroed him away

Dude, as soon as you left this morning we got it on the second try, lol! The hamini guy and a new guy did it, i threw a grenade but doubt it played a part...

Just awaiting my raid chest piece or helmet still, I really gotta build my second character to 20.

Had a surprisingly good time doing the raid on Hard w/ Biz, Bailey, Jafo, Joe, and Andy. Biz didn't yell at anyone at all! His reputation preceded him.

Anyway, I'm always down for raids. It's all I have left to do. Sitting on 50 shards, got all my favorite weapons maxed out at 300, all my current L29 armor set is maxed out, Im just putting exp into random legendary weapons and armor for more shards/energy.

I really should just focus on my second guy.

I think I might wait for the Iron Banner to get some more lvl 30 gear. The raid is really wasting my time with the endless supply of shards and energy. And the only thing we have to look forward to is doing it all over again in December when raid 2 drops

It's not hard. The only reason I'm not 30 (halfway through 28 myself) is because my arms, chest and boots and all purple Vanguard gear. I have 2-3 upgrades on each one to do (they're unlocked, I just haven't opened them) but don't want to waste the Ascendant material on that kind of gear.
