I just ordered a "Used - Like New" copy of The Nest (1988) from Amazon for seven dollars.

I have not seen this one since I rented it back in high school when it was first released on videotape, so it'll be interesting to see how the movie holds up. I shall place it next to Deadly Eyes on my shelf to complete the "mutated creatures chasing Lisa Langlois" theme.

Before the movie was released, I had purchased and read the paperback novel by Gregory A. Douglas. I'm not sure what happened with my copy of the book. I must have traded it in at a used bookstore at some point.

Speaking of monster dogs, how about a release of the French film, Brotherhood of the Wolf?

I love that film, I hope they can resolve the issue with Universal.

The Nest is a personal favorite. I hadn't seen it since I was a kid and it was a treat to watch it again as an adult. Doubly so, because I actually enjoyed the film and not just the nostalgia.

Another trip to Movie Stop to take advantage of the Halloween sale...

I bought Bad Dreams/Visiting Hours. I rented Bad Dreams back in the day, and I remember a few spooky moments. Visiting Hours is the main attraction, though, because it has a great cast, and because it's another one from the golden age of slasher movies (roughly 1980-1984).

I also grabbed some non-Scream selections from the sale: Graduation Day and Crystal Lake Memories. (After enjoying the 12 films in the Friday the 13th set this month, I decided that the documentary would be worthwhile.)

Every time I watch Visiting Hours, I marvel at Lee Grant. She was nearly 60 when she made it and, holy shit, she certainly doesn't look it.

Have you ever seen The Mafu Cage with Grant and Carol Kane? Pure insanity. Highly recommended. If only Scream could snag that one.

You enjoyed all 12? I only liked 10 of them (1-8,10-11)

Despite loving monster/creature movies I really disliked The Nest and it lead to me being much more cautious when blind buying Scream Factory titles, up until that point I had purchased every release.

The second film, Friday the 13th: Part 2, is my favorite, followed closely by Friday the 13th (1980) and Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. My least favorites are Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X.

Even my least favorite films in the series are still fun, though, in the same way that bad delivery pizza is still pretty good.

I've reviewed and discussed all of these films in the dedicated thread for the box set, though, so I'd better not further derail the Scream Factory discussion.

Maaaaaan, I loved The Nest. It's actually probably one of my favorite creature feature/killer animal movies. It's just so insane, and the effects are actually pretty fantastic. I was pretty shocked by how enjoyable I found that movie to be.

I think the remake is the worst by far, followed by JGTH.
My favorites are Final Chapter, Jason Lives, and Jason X. Then, 3 and 5.

You are right about further derailment though. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Does anyone have any idea of the odds of Scream being able to do an Elvira double feature - Elvira: Mistress of the Dark / Elvira's Haunted Hills?

would love a release of "Jack's Back" starring James Spader. Great little known movie though don't know who has the rights.

Dream Lover (1993) is another James Spader film I'd love to see on Blu-ray. Although not really horror, it's definitely got some very creepy elements. It might be a good one for the Shout line.

Prophecy (1979) - Can they find the deleted gore sequences??

King Kong (1976) - With tv extended scenes.

Brotherhood of the Wolf - Extended cut.

The Big Bus - Preceded Airplane!, and is VERY funny.

Bug (1975) - Creepy killer bug movie.

This is a HUGE want for me, but Elvira isnt with MGM anymore, i think someone said its with Lakeshore or something...definately would be awesome if they could get it though.

I think it's with Paramount. Haven't seen it in sometime. Would love to see it on blu-ray.
