dismantling a fully leveled exotic weapon, as noted, will indeed give you 2 exotic shards

when one says fully leveled they are saying that just the XP is fully applied to it (outline of all circles are green) ... you do not need to put any mats/shards/glimmer into it

Same for raid weapons. Raid gear will not produce extra shards.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Is it a 1-2 thing or do you always get 2?

I have done it twice (pre-dlc version of super good advice and pocket infinity). Both times gave me 2 shards. But with Bungie that still doesnt make it 100% reliable.

Not sure if always true.

I know I've received two shards from SGA and pocket infinity, but I swear there was a time I only got one shard, and was kind of pissed. It may have been when I broke down my (lower perk) Helm of Saint-14 that was fully leveled. Can't recall now.
