TV horror is a goldmine. There are so many great movies that never even got a VHS release. Scream released a DVD two pack with two okay films, it didn't sell well, so they gave up on releasing more. They should release two great TV films on Blu, and then judge sales from that release. Again, with what they have been releasing lately, I don't see how anything could be beneath them. And I'm not saying that in a negative way, I love all this schlock that they have been spewing out!
Indeed.. I'd gladly scoop up a Trilogy of Terror/Trilogy of Terror II double feature as well as Omen IV just to name a few.

Yeah but Howling II is with MGM and that's the main / primary company they are sublicensing from. Scream could get the other Howling titles with MGM if they wanted them assuming they are being offered.

Psycho IV is not with MGM. There doesnt seem to be anything on the table with Universal at the moment.. but in the event that things change, maybe it would be possible. Nobody knows until they announce something from another studio.
That's a good point.. Lord help us if Psycho IV is one of the first offerings if a deal with Universal would be reached. Considering Both Tales from the Crypt movies have been asked about repeatedly for years, as well as so many other solid properties Universal is sitting on... even if Psycho IV is possible, it would probably be pretty far down the list of priorities.

Id get the Trilogy of Terror movies myself, but Dark Sky is another one of those studios that just sits on titles ala a mini Lionsgate.
Dark Sky has the first one and I heard the second one is with Universal as opposed to Paramount.. something might have switched hands behind the scenes.
Omen IV is with Fox and if SF strikes another deal with that studio Im all for that one as well as the Fly II.
Watch, at the San Diego comic con they announce The Fly, the Fly II and Omen IV as their headliners lol

Also keep in mind that KINO is now becoming a force - it is very possible that they are working on deals with other labels besides MGM as well. I havent heard anything but Im just throwing it out there as something possible.

Slumber Party Massacre was another that was shot down more than once. Here are two of the replies. Thankfully it was eventually released and looked nice IMO. I still want parts 2 and 3.

Has Scream said anything in regards to Naziploitation flicks? Are there any they could release if they chose to?

Well they invested the money to restore it and went for it knowing that it would be a good seller. Besides they have the rights to the movie - its not like they needed to ask MGM or Fox...

The Carrie remake with Angela Bettis is a TV movie.

I'm DYING for the Ilsa films to make it to Blu. I'd prefer if Synapse got them but I'd take Scream over nothing. Same with some Blaxploitation stuff, like the Pam Grier movies (pleeeease).

Exactly. The point is, they ended up releasing it and putting money into a new restore because people kept asking for it, and they saw there was a demand for it. I'm not saying people should start asking for Warner titles or anything, but if there's a chance, people need to request it, because it will encourage them to continue to go after said title since they know there is already a market demanding it.

Lets face it, they HAVE to make another deal with Universal and Fox, hell even Sony, if they want to continue being a successful brand. MGM has been sucked dry from every label out there, and as fun as some of these smaller releases have been, you can't continue with these type of titles. They WILL make deals with these companies again, so throwing out titles people would be interested in if said deal happens is never a bad thing. Better to let them know what we want now, instead of waiting until they have already made a deal with said companies and already picked their movies to release. If/ when they make a deal with Universal, it may just be another one off batch, so we need to let them know what we want now, so when there are picking the titles they are interested in, some of them will be titles we asked for. Again, all this has to be within reason. I wouldn't start throwing out a Warner wish list just yet.

Totally missed my point. Just posted it as it was another case of sometimes "no" doesn't always mean or remain a "no". Nothing to really debate or rationalize about it. Keep up the hopes people, even if ya get a no.. cause you never know.

Besides, we all know they have to say no at times anyway when people ask otherwise they and other companies would rarely be able to give surprise announcements cause the cat would be out of the bag already.

..and now back to our regularly scheduled program, already in progress

I too would love to see Shout get into some Blaxploitation. An action line could be a lot of fun. A lot of ninja and blaxploitation flicks have been getting released in the Uk, but ignored in NA. Kino has been dipping into that pond, but we need some other companies doing the same.

Same with 80s teen comedies. I know they haven't been the best sellers, but maybe a line dedicated to them would build interest with people in collecting them. One title here or there just doesn't build the same excitement. It's like Shout with their horror titles. They were decent sellers, but it wasn't until they announced the Scream line that people felt the need to grab everything they released, even if they wouldn't normally be must have purchases. It doesn't have to be a completely new line with a logo or anything, but something as simple a Blaxploitation Collection or Teen Romp Collection on the top of each case, letting people know this is a collection, and more are coming.

It's a shame titles like Party Animal, Revenge of the Nerds 2: Nerds in Paradise, Fraternity Vacation, Summer School, Coffy, Foxy Brown, Super Fly, etc. aren't on Blu yet.

It would be nice but I doubt Scream would release them, solely based on when Ms 45 was mentioned being shot down by the higher ups at Shout/Scream. If that film was too much, I would think the Ilsa films would be a quick no. But hey, who knows.

If it helps any, Ilsa: The Wicked Warden had a German release and from what it says here it's region free. There's a review for it as well. I thought about ordering it myself.

Yeeeeessss! I'm up for Blaxploitation in general but haven't seen a lot of it, but I have seen Coffy and Foxy Brown, among a few others, and I love me some Pam Grier! She's a big reason I'm interested in the Blacula double feature (haven't seen either, but I've been curious about them for awhile just cause of the attention-catching title). It kills me there's Arrow editions of the aforementioned Coffy and FB but I'm not region free.

Because of what they'd cost Scream to release? Or because of the more explicit content than most of their output? Either way, I'm ok with that just due to Scream's encoding flaws.

Good to know, I'll check out the review but that was my least favorite of the three that I saw (I have the OOP Anchor Bay trilogy DVD set, still haven't seen Tigress of Siberia as I'm only region 1/A)

MGM doesn't have the other Howling films and Timeless Media, a subsidiary of Shout, already released a horrific Blu of parts 3, 5 & 6.

If I had my choice of TV movies released on BD, it would be a double feature of The Night Stalker/ The Night Strangler.

A blu ray release of these movies is long overdue! There is definitely a solid fan base for these titles, and I'm sure they would be strong sellers for any distributor that picks them up for release.

I'd still like to see the The Midnight Hour (1985).

As far as horror titles in general go, there is still a lot of good stuff out there. Warner is probably going to be out of the question for the foreseeable future. However, deals with companies like Universal, Sony, Fox, Image, and Lionsgate could be possible if Scream makes them an offer they can't refuse. These companies are sitting on a goldmine and don't seem to care. Cliff and Jeff need to get out there and start busting some knee caps.

This!

A terrific movie, made-for-TV or otherwise. One of the labels needs to snatch this one up. Although I imagine the music rights could pose a problem, but Anchor Bay managed to do it.

70's TV horror flicks get no respect and most if them were pretty good...

would love to see

Crowhaven Farm
Home For The Holidays
Initiation of Sarah
The Spell
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark
She Waits
Killdozer
Snowbeast
Cat Creature
Curse of the Black Widow

Anyone who grew up in front of the boob tube in the 1970s and early 1980s remembers these films. There is I think a built-in fan base for these titles.

Any of those films (above) would be good candidates for release. I'd like to also see "Summer of Fear" (1978) and "This House Possessed" (1981) on blu ray one day or even, dare I say, on DVD.
