I doubt there will be a separate 2D release. Those links will probably both have 2D & 3D, one of them will just be a steelbook.

If they're placeholders for your post then Rixx is right - they'll just be a 3D/2D combo for this, the same as the last two (plus the steelbook version).

Different links/ASIN but the titles are the same at the moment, I'm guessing the titles will be changing soon.

Hope we get another nice Weta produced statue with this one, the Gollum/ Bilbo one was a bit cack but the Barrel Riders statue is fantastic.

Perhaps a limited edition with statue. Otherwise I can't explain that high pre-order price. Pre-order prices always start high and lower. A bit too high now.

Absolutely - I'm not sure why people are worried or trying to figure out why it's that much. Amazon often have a high price at the start, close to the RRP of the set, whilst they work out what price they can offer it at.

I mean, the set hasn't even been officially announced yet so taking any price at face value is a silly thing to do.

Extended release is currently listed at £21.99 on both Amazon & HMV, if it ends up going below £20 on release I'll probably just get it then.
Last film, last boxset and won't have to think about it again (unless I pick up 1&3 theatrical cuts later, probably used at CeX).

This has got an R in the US. Because you know, most adaptation for classic children's literature should be restricted for 17's and over.
