I would say that Firefox is the "something better". Anyways I do try new stuff like the PS3, my Wii, an HDTV, my Ipod touch and so on but one has to draw the line somewhere. My browser having all the stuff I need I simply don't see what Chrome can do for me. But if I'm wrong I shall see over time as this new browser creates buzz or not

if you read the comic, the google browser looks better in every respect. plus its free, so i'm totally missing how you can brush it off because you think firefox is the be all and end all of the browser world what do you have to lose by trying it?

i just hope they release a mac client tomorrow. i'm tired of safari

Have you tried Camino? I switched to that from Firefox, and haven't gone back. Never really liked Safari.

huh with all the ado, comic explaining chrome and the whole shebang it seems the most important thing has been forgotten: the actual link to the download ? it's nowhere ! right now it's september 2 and well even if the browser is not yet out, what is the link where it will be out in a few hours ???

so you're a fan of something that is not yet released and sorta bash people who like Firefox? Come on, man. But than again, you're a mac user...

Privacy mode was something that was supposed to be in FF3, but didn't make it.

The faster JavaScript processing is something Mozilla talked about bringing to 3.1 last week (?).

Sounds like Google should have just purchased Firefox instead of trying to copy it. Unless they can get an active user base like FF, it will fail.

Well put. In all honesty, MS has had their hands so deep into so much software for businesses (specifically the Office Suite), people, on the whole, are comfortable with it's usability.

Then there are folks who are skeptical of anything MS (like me) and prefer different things (Lotus Notes over Outlook, Firefox over IE, etc). This latter group of folks is growing, and google wants a piece of that pie. Have for ages.

i could be way off base here, but it seems to me the only reason google helped with firefox was to chip away from internet explorers domination until they could build their own browser. but i cant imagine them having a problem making it popular

i'm not saying its better, yet. but firefox isnt all that great either. but i wasnt bashing anyone, just didnt understand why you wouldnt give it a chance

but i'm not your normal mac fanatic. i'd never give up my pc. and i like other pmp's over the ipod

If it's better than firefox, I'll use it. Better is subjective, so I mean better in my eyes.

I always try to use the best product that I personally like regardless of who makes it.
