Entertainment Tonight aired a snippet tonight with George Lucas entering the Kennedy Center gala last night.
They asked him, naturally, what he thought of the movie. His response? "I think the fans are going to love it."

Watching A New Hope right now, and had a thought. Would anyone like it if they personified the force in the new movies? Like revealed a god behind it all?

naaa, but you made me think of Marvel's Eternals. As a substitute for an AT-AT scene, I would like to see a giant jedi or giant sith - as in huge, Galactus style. I would love to see the soldiers try the "wrap a rope around the legs to trip the enemy" but the giant would just casually rip the rope apart (as if they were tangled showlaces) rather than trip and fall down.

Clone Wars kind of did something a little similar with a trio of living personifications of the Force: the Father (the Living Force), the Son (the Dark Side), and the Daughter (the Light Side).

But if they revealed there was an active deity behind the Force as a whole, I'd probably be done with the franchise moving forward.

I think a deity makes a lot more sense than midiclorians, but only if it's done well. If so it would be pretty awesome.

My problem with it is that it would give the Force a totally unnecessary element of agency. Midi-chlorians are the physical mechanism through which the Force is accessed by living things. There's a big difference between simple mechanism and active motivation.

Have any cinemas announced a Star Wars Marathon including the new film in your area I thought this would be a given but I haven't heard of any cinema doing this
