Which one has the features you need?
Which remote do you like best?
Do you like "Cyclops" vs a standard display?

(if you can tell any difference with HDAM, more power to your ears)

I've only ever owned Yamaha or Denon. The 710w is now my second Denon in a row, mainly because I had my previous AVR-889 for 10+ years and loved it. The 710w had every single feature I was looking for and found it at Best Buy a few weeks ago for $50 off and jumped on it.

I've never owned a Marantz so I have nothing to offer there but can tell you I'm very happy with Denon.

I got my avr-s910w today. I did the step by step set up. Everything worked well. After the set up was complete, I decided to try out a blu ray on it.

Within a couple minutes, the unit shut off. I turned it back on and it shut off again. After a couple more times of shutting off on its own and me turning it back on, it shut off once more but this time smoke came out of the top of the unit.

Amazon is sending me a replacement but definitely not happy that it is pretty much fried out of the box.

Just ordered the 2200 refurb from Amazon. It's on back order but I'm in no rush to get it since I already have something. Guess I'll have to hook up another pair of rears, but is it really worth it for a hand full of atmos movies?

I've got the 2200. All they've said is it'll be later this year sometime. Denon better not abandon the lower tier. Considering they plastered the DTS:X logo on the box and advertised a firmware update, that would constitute false advertising.

The 7200 gets it on the 28th.

6200W/4200W on Feb 18th.

3200W/2200W/1200W/910W/710W are TBD (spring) at present. They will get it though.

Denon just released this,

I've been eyeballing the Denon 710/910 and hoping for a price drop soon. My current Onkyo (TX-NR509) has an HDMI problem in one of the inputs and lacks punch on my current speakers (Polk Monitors 60 and 30) I've read really good reviews about these 2, any opinions?

I have the 910 and I am really satisfied with it. For the price you dont get any better on the market right now. It is also DTS:X enabled, so that when the firmware upgrade is released in March, you'll be ready to rock DTS:X content as well

No I got it new from best buy. They offered a extended protection plan 4 year 120.00 also. I have 2 weeks to add it. This is a nice step up from my old Sony720.

That is a heck of a deal at that price. Is it Dolby Atmos and DTS:X enabled?
