Unfortunately, I think this holiday season will be terrible for big ticket purchases. Economy is bad and consumers have no confidence at this point. Even after the bailout, we don't what will happen until after the dust settles.

I somewhat agree, but with some hdtv's being in the 40-50 inch $1000 and under range will entice quite a few people to jump on the bandwagon. We need player prices in the 100-200 range and bd's in the $15 range (for brand new releases). I don't think that blu ray will be in that range this year, definently next year, and hdtv will be far and wide in that price range this christmas. Blu will get a decent bump this christmas, but just wait patiently for the next holiday season
