Default What Would You Do With Pacman Jones?

Pacman got a 4 game suspension for fighting off the field. He was drunk when it occured and drinking was against his terms of agreement for being reinstated back in the NFL.

kick his ass to the curb!!! he's not worth the trouble he brings. you can only give a guy so many chances.

on a side note, how can someone just throw so much talent and the life he has away??? it's like nothing is good enough to make him stop and grow up.

I remember when we used to think people like Deion Sanders were out of control and Terrell Owens took things just to another level.

Its funny how fast the times change.

He should never have been reinstated in the first place. He's a disgrace to the organization and its disgusting that the Cowboys would sink low enough to sign him.

Ban the idiot from the NFL for life. He obviously just doesn't get it. Let him play ball in Canada or Europe (no offense to you folks ).

Jeff Fischer said it best, "These guys step on the field and don't realize that they are closer to their last play then they are their first.". Its a tough sport and it moves on with or without you.

it's funny that we live in a society where we pay millions of dollars to testosterone fueled physical alpha males to play a game and then we are surprised and revolted when they "act up" or are given "special treatment".

We want their heads on a stick when they act what we as a hypocritically puritanical society consider to be inappropriate.

Even at a young age as soon as they show their potential as a child they are coddled and protected by parents, teachers, coaches, and principals so they can "reach their potential." Discipline is waived in many instances.

They are treated special, they are treated differently through out their young career. then they get recruited by a university and are given all kinds of special privileges and breaks and rightfully so as the young player is going to make the school millions by adding to a successful football program.

how can someone like this be held to the same expectations that you or I are held to? should they be treated differently? I think it's unfair to treat them the same as the rest of us as their life has been so different. It's just something we should accept if you like your football the way it is.

it doesn't seem fair at all but "fairness" is a childish concept to begin with in this situation.

I agree Pacman is not the norm but we as viewers of the sport should judge him on his performance on the field and that is all. I have no interest in his personal life. the same goes for actors; I don't care if the actor is a bigot or a bigmouth who thinks they know something about politics or whatever, if the movie is good I will watch it.

Imagine if you didn't let "joe the mechanic" fix your car because you found out he killed a dog three years ago but "as a mechanic" he is the best, most honest, and cheapest around. we don't know the details of the story surrounding the death of the dog because we weren't there. it's all second hand knowledge at best.

I'm sure I had a point in there somewhere

the biggest problem with me teabaggins, is not the fact that he got into the fight, its the fact that he made an agreement to the NFL in order to get re-instated and part of that agreement was to not drink alchohol.

he clearly wasn't following his promise with the NFL about alchohol, so why should we believe that he is going to follow anything else. it appears pacman simply said "Yeah, sure ill do that" if it got him back in the NFL, but had no intention of really living up to his agreement.

I understand what you are saying but so what if he had no intention of living up to his agreement.... why do we, as fans of the sport, care? why are we bothered with any of that

The guy is nothing but a thug and needs to go, cant teach a old dog new tricks i guess. You would think a job that pays you millions would be enough motivation to stop hanging with a bunch of thug losers!

once again, why do we care if he is a thug? how does that affect his ability to play well.

Lawrence Taylor was a crackhead but we all loved to watch him play

well, what other types of agreements might he not really be willing to live up to?

no gambling?
no doping?
no outbreaks on field?

all these things could possibly jepordize the game. he made a written deal with the NFL to come back, if he breaks his deal, he needs to pay the consequences.

What crime did he commit he was not arrested nor charged with anything, I do live in Dallas but that doesn’t make me a Pacman fan, I don’t think we should have traded for the idiot, but what’s fair is fair. he didn’t do anything illegal to get suspended for.

no doping? same as above, and he will get caught as often as others do
no outbreaks on field? once again why do you care. if he acts up he gets ejected and the team suffers.
.
so if someone breaks one agreement they MIGHT break others so they shouldn't play at all?

is this really any of our concern as spectators? why are we up in arms about it

LOL I can't imagine Pacman tearing it up for the Toronto Argonauts... well we let Williams into the league when he was suspended from the NFL for substance use, so why not? lol
