Ya, I read what he said too fast. Most people love the original, so the remake he alludes to most people liking more would definitely not be that wretched tv-movie.

Furmanek made a lot of noise on HTF at the beginning of the year about being involved with the creation of a 3d master for the film which at the time did not exist.
Unfortunately despite being an industry insider he didn't post any updates over there. The Panamint statement about cancelling the UK release because there will be a US one sounds unconvincing. |

Based on what you are saying here, it would seem to confirm exactly what Panamint said, that Universal are planning to release the film on Blu-ray 3D/2D in the U.S., as they just did with Jaws 3(-D) and they did in the past with Creature from the Black Lagoon. Universal have also maintained a steady trickle of catalog titles in the US, even as other labels have not, so I do not understand why you would be less convinced of such a disc materializing now, based on what Panamint has said. After all, the existence of a Panamint release does nothing to indicate a Universal release, and independent UK label Panamint is surely not financially able to compete for unit sales with a multinational American company like NBC Universal. |

I remember a trailer for It Came From Outer Space being shown on the BBC straight after an episode of Doctor Who (Destiny of the Daleks, 1979) that was to be shown the following day, it scared the living daylights out of me!
![]() It was the sequence of them driving along the long, dry and dusty road when all of a sudden the alien enters screen-right from the side of the road and right up to the camera lens (it really didn't help being sat very close to the TV screen). I was only 8 at the time and it felt as though a 1000 volts had suddenly entered my body, one of the biggest shocks from a film I've ever had and the memory of its impact has stayed with me ever since. I still watched the full film though for the pure thrills, anxiety and scares, the brave little boy I am (was) ![]() Top film! |
