Online lobby and voice chat

Our new dedicated smart device app will connect to Nintendo Switch and let you invite friends to play online, set play appointments, and chat with friends during online matches in compatible games─all from your smart device.

A free, limited version of this app will be available for download in summer 2017.
Is the app required for sending invites and chatting? Why send users away from console to operate those things? Unless it's optional, in which case they should communicate that...

I'd be really hesitant for a paid online service from Nintendo considering how far behind they are in that department.

Serious question....

Other than Splatoon why would anyone even pay for online anyways?

I was dreading every transition to a new speaker just because I knew that annoying as hell finger snap was coming.

Dock is $90, a single Joy-Con is $50.
Wow, those things are more than the DS4 and XB1 gamepad

They did.

2.5 hours to 6 hours max depending on how intense the game you are playing is.

Must be that new rumble feature they have invented pushing the price up.

Then play it on the Wii U. Jesus. If people don't want the system, don't get it.

Well if the Mario kart rumors are true, it will have 16 new tracks and a new and improved battle mode. Plus not everyone owns a Wii U.

So we get a NES or SNES game free whilst subscribing to online play...

Subscribers will get to download and play a NES or SNES game (with newly-added online play) for free for a month.

(Free game each month?)

So as of right now are there only three confirmed launch date titles (Zelda, 1,2 switch, and arms) and the rest will be stated at a later date?

Oh get over it. Sorry I'm not lapping up everything Nintendo craps out, and actually view this as a consumer that doesnt want to blow money for no reason.

On the plus side, NES and SNES games will have online play added, and a free classic every month for subscribers.

Arms isn't even a launch title. It's April. Same with Mario Kart.

Although that's not bad news. A trickle of games may be a smart idea.

Just got word from a local store manager on when these would be up for pre-order.

Tomorrow at 10am local time.

This particular store would have only 23 units available and there is a 1 per household limit.

Good luck!
Good luck? Sounds like no one wants one now its $300 lol
