Question Worst of 2016?

Yeah, let's be honest. 2016 sucked. We lost way too many people we loved and had way to few movies which delivered on their promise or just sucked altogether. What was the worst for you this year?

-Storks
-Don't Breathe
-Snowden
-Miss whatever the hell it was for children
-Blair Witch

2016 was a great year for movies, in my opinion, and I saw over 30 new films over the year.

In fact, the only movie that flat out underwhelmed me was Independence Day: Resurgence.

I'm surprised this thread has lasted this long without anyone saying Suicide Squad yet. It's the cool thing to dislike that movie right?

Snowden was fantastic. The best film of the year by far for me and Oliver Stone's best film since Natural Born Killers. A shame that it got ignored due to the controversy. Definitely doesn't belong on a worst of list. Edward Snowden is a Hero all the way though!

I like Suicide Squad.

In fact, I like a lot of the 2016 movies that were napalmed by critics, such as Morgan, The Fifth Wave, Cell, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Well, I only have seen 22 films from 2016, and I generally don't bother with stuff that I can tell right off the bat I'm not going to like. All that being said, the three films that I graded the lowest, giving them all a B, were The Accountant, Amanda Knox, and Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising.

Now, as I said, I gave them a grade of B, so it's not as if I disliked any of them really. They just didn't live up to my hopes.

I only saw 21 movies for 2016 but the ones that were the worst for me were Triple 9, Rogue One and The Shallows.

The title says "worst", and it's the same year as "Dawn of Justice", so it's kind of locked in that SS can't be more than the silver.

I like Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman as well, but I have not seen the others you mentioned yet.

Yoga Hosers or Gods of Egypt so far has been the worst one I've watched. I'm still catching up on films released last year.

Suicide Squad being first is really fitting, too.

My biggest disappointment of 2016 was Independence Day: Resurgence.

La La Land

Nocturnal Animals
20th Century Women
Krisha

I'm certain there will be more, but I haven't seen a good portion of films from 2016 yet.

I saw something like 5 minutes of Gods of Egypt and could not believe that it had even been made. I just don't get it.

But that's what I meant about not seeing too many truly bad movies. If something's that horrible, I'm just not going to watch it. So this year the worst were all graded B for me, and last year it was Star Wars: The Force Awakens with a C.

I actually feel for these professional critics whose job it is to sit there and watch this dreck, no matter how bad.

Worst thing I saw last year was easily The Neon Demon. Ridiculous and unwatchable in every single facet.

Super weak year for films in general. Arguably nothing that will be remembered even 5 years from now, with 1 or 2 exceptions.
