It seems an insider on AVS has confirmed that the player won't be Universal, but Blu-ray only.

Realta chip sounds great. Finally a TRUE high end player.
On the last page.. there are now pictures of a Denon BD player.

Doesn't exactly sound like a vote of confidence for HD-DVD. I'll believe it when I see it on domestic store shelves.
I wouldn't put much stock into either Gizmodo or Engadget but there's a chap on AVS that's a Onkyo dealer or something and he confirms a rebadge of the XA2 is indeed coming and his info (regarding Onkyo specs and what not) have been johnny on the spot. I'm hoping they add some new audio formats and make some other tweaks.

Those are some pretty speakers....

Unforunately, given that they're denon. I imagine it'd cost a quarter of my yearly salary to get them .

I can just imagine how much cash that combination will cost, if that in fact is to be believed.

If that Blu-ray player plays DVD-As, it may be time to get rid of my DVD-2900. Even though my Panny plays DVD-As, I've always felt it was a terrible DVD-A player, and this would probably replace the Panny anyway.

Sweet looking gear that looks to also have a high WAF value in the looks department.
Not sure about the WAF for price just yet though.
