Why would you or anyone else for that matter buy speakers that haven't been auditioned personally? It took me over a year to select mine after listening to at least half-a-dozen to a dozen brands.
Normally I would follow your lead. That being said, for the great prices these speakers were, I felt it was worth the risk.

Also, unless your auditioning the speakers in your actual residence, your really not going to get a full sense of any speakers until they are in your room anyway. Certain speakers respond better with different acoustics and that is impossible to reproduce on a show room floor.

Just like buying a guitar amp, the sales guy always plugs in the les paul and it sounds great, but when you get home and plug in your Korean knockoff, it sounds like crap.
