The Chronicles of Prydain also in development, but given Disney's ambivalence towards The Black Cauldron, it's going to be a rough road.

Given the success of BatB, looks like we're getting even more of these.

I cannot wait for the Disney remake of Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom.

The only animated movie that I'd really like to see Disney remake in live-action would be Hunchback. Would love to see them go for a hard PG-13 on that, especially with the Hellfire number. It'll never happen, because they have to cater to as wide an audience as possible (not a criticism, just a comment). But I love their animated Hunchback and doing it in live-action could be visually stunning in the right hands. (maybe Del Toro directing? Patrick Stewart as Frollo? Priyanka Chopra as Esmeralda? ooh la la)

Of those shown, I'd only be interested in Lion King and Mulan. I actually have only seen the Jungle Book when it comes to the remakes, and I gave that one a shot because I heard it was better than the 1967 version...plot was beefier, and it was.

This would be the one of all the animated films that actually could be potentially better than the animated film. I'd say that the new Jungle Book came close if it wasn't for that horrible King Louis part.

Mulan already had a live-action remake.

Was Reese Witherspoon really the best person they could think of? That casting is as lazy as the Emma Stone as Cruella de Vil rumor (I'd go with Rebecca Hall as Cruella and make it more Jessica Jones than Maleficent).

Personally, I think Kristin Chenoweth should be Tinkerbell but she's probably too old at this point.

Well, they don't say that she is playing Tinker Bell herself. When it was announced, it only said she was producing and starring in it. She could be playing her mom for all we know. Witherspoon is way too old for the role, too, and she's already showing her age. I'm not playing ageism. Think about it: a middle-aged woman in a panty-and-thigh-revealing dress who likes to play with boys who don't grow up. How the hell are they gonna market that?

Just curious, did Disney give this live action remake series an official name (i.e. MCU, DCEU, Dark Universe, etc)?

And, is The Sorcerer's Apprentice a part of it?

DLAU? (Disney Live Action Universe) too much like DCEU (actually, calling it DCU, Disney Cinematic Universe, sounds more like DCEU)

WDLAU - Walt Disney Live Action Universe - lame

That's all I got

You gotta think in order for Aladdin to be successful, you can't go the route that Robin Williams brought to the role - comedy. As a lot of you have stated, that's going to be a tough role to fill, no matter who does it so the only way I think you can go, is to have the Genie take on a more serious role.

Let's wait until the trailer drops, when it's ready, and see what they do. The other thing I'm nervous about this movie - the director. I'm a fan of Guy Ritchie movies, not all of them, but quite a few, i.e. Snatch, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, the first Sherlock Holmes movie and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. but his last one has me scared, King Arthur. It didn't do well critically and hasn't made that much money so going into your next project, ya gotta think the studio knows these things and is a bit worried themselves.

Is that really the name of a character in that movie? Or, do you dislike black people? Because that's considered a slur about black people.
