I have an onkyo 606, so I am able to get it with a my panny dmp-bd35k, but I am wondering if I take that back to costco and get a blu-ray drive can I still get lossless. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Yes, it is possible. As long as you have a decent onboard DAC chip, then you can use your multi channel analog outputs.

Alternatively you can get a HDMI soundcard that supports the new formats. There is a couple that I know of so far. One is yet to be released and the other has buggy drivers at this stage. I am still holding off until something stable is available...
