Please. That was the very beginning of the format. Many studios didn't even know HOW to master something properly for blu-ray back then. In addition, studios were also trying to get product out so customers had something to buy, to even see if the format would be successful. Hindsight is 20/20, but don't be ignorant of the technology at the time as well as the studios' mindsets.

But this is the problem with today's society. Instead of being happy it got a remaster and looks fantastic, people would rather complain and dwell on things that didn't happen, or think should've happened. It's a sad state when complaining takes precedence over a positive.

Well it would be nice if they put that remaster out so everyone could buy it and not just people with 4k players.

You don't have to have a 4K player. It has the BD with it.

Blade Runner was released in theaters in 1982 and remastered in 2007... so Unforgiven actually seems to fit the timeline for catalog titles

And the difference is, Blade Runner came out in 1982, not 1992, so the print was older, and the fact that Ridley went back and made a "Final Cut." That's why it was remastered then.

I don't blame you. $40 is a lot to pay for this. Make it $20 and I might be persuaded.

I think it would've happened initially. I think this is the only way to get it for some reason

Hmmm. I read that Warner will be releasing a standalone later this year but I haven't heard the street date. I'm not upgrading to 4k so I hope it's soon.

If that's the case then they very well may be releasing a standalone after all.

^^^This

If you really wanted it, then you would've bought the 4k/Blu combo by now. If not, then don't complain about it.

Yeah, no.

Not paying an exorbitant price on a format I have no interest in just to have the Blu-ray disc.

LOL "exorbitant"

Bottom line is then you don't want ti that bad and it's not worth it to you. You made the choice, so that's that. I paid $24 and that's hardly "exorbitant" for a full on remaster.
