Default Clip: Bruce Wayne Speaks With Aquaman ("Strong Man's Strongest Alone")

The dialogue is very good. Wow. As much as I love BvS (UE), I think that it would have been much better if it featured this type of dialogue between Bats and Supes.

Is that a video of the finished product? There's some truly awful blue/green screen shots there.

Thank Whedon for that. WB should have left Snyder's work alone. They've screwed him over two times now by meddling with his work.

All 35mm? I sure hope they at least scanned it at 4k.

The good news is the 1:85 aspect ratio.

Sing it

Did Whedon also shoot 35mm? Good news if so. I figured he'd go digital.

Snyder was all set to do the reshoots, but he left because of family circumstances.

Plus, haven't all the DCEU fans been saying that Whedon would be sticking faithful to Snyder's vision? Funny how that changes once you think something's wrong.

Some people are gonna like the movie no matter what. I dunno why they bother being critical about individual elements before even seeing a movie they're gonna lavish praise upon regardless.

Yeah the close up shots of Aquaman towards the end were a little funky, we’ll have to see how well they hold up or if the scene was an earlier rendering for promotion’s sake. Not super terrible though. The wider shot of Momoa looks great!

I have a distinct feeling Whedon is going to get all the praise and all the bashing. Anything good about the movie will get attributed to him by critics even if he had nothing to do with it, and anything DCEU fanboys don't like will get blamed on him even if Snyder shot it in the first place. He's in a position where he can be upheld as the savior of the franchise and a scapegoat for the film's "failings" at the same time.

Yeah but that goes both ways. People who like this movie but didn't like the others with praise Whedon, and people who hate this but like the others will bash him (as you say). WB can't win, except at the box office. I hope the movie is good AND does well, so we'll see what happens. It looks like at least the former is true to some extent, judging by early reactions, but I just don't sense any kind of genuine hype behind this movie when I talk to people day to day. Everyone's still talking about how much they loved Thor, now how excited they are about this.

Okay I have to ask. Why in the heck is this movie a $300 million dollar project? This is way more expensive than The Avengers and BvS, and even The Hobbit 3, why does this need to be that expensive?

Looks like Zack Snyder doesn’t have the ability to make these movies without spending a fortune. Batman v Superman cost the same.

From what I understand, the 2nd unit DP during principal photography shot the reshoots/pick ups on 35mm. Wagner posted this on his instagram after the last trailer came out.

Here it is...https://www.instagram.com/p/BaAN8ojA...fabianwagner78

While he doesn't say the 2nd unit DP shot on film during the reshoots, I would imagine he did to make sure the look gelled with the principal photography....

Yeah it's definitely Snyder's fault that BvS was a huge movie the studio was betting big on, with tons of visual effects and a two-time Oscar winning star who's one of the most recognizable faces in the world. And with Justice League, Snyder's such a hack for spending $300M all over again, especially when a good chunk of that came from reshoots he wasn't even part of.

Shooting a big-budget DC film in 35mm is the equivalent of buying an expensive steak, then having it well-done with ketchup.

I'm not hating on 35mm. I'm saying 95% of what makes film... film will be completely wiped away in the DI.
