Remember how long Georgie took to release the original 3 on DVD. Think how reluctant he was to release Indiana Jones 4 on Blu, keeping us wondering if he actually would. It's not going to be anytime soon, Nick. Don't hold your breath.

george sounds like a tool! I figured for sure we'd have all 6 epidoes by the end of 2010! Whats the deal with Indiana Jones 4? What about older horror movies like all the halloweens, jasons, and freddy's? I think the 1st jason comes out in feb, but i may be mistaken!

No. He just isn't going to rush to release something on a format that isn't widely adopted yet.

Why spend the time and money, when the format isn't widely owned as of yet.

I doubt it will be as long as it took for it on DVD. But it will be a while.

Star Wars: Clone Wars and Indiana Jones at least gave him sales figures to go by.

Don't expect Star Wars before 2011 at the very least. I putting my money for Christmas release 2011, a box set with all 6 movies and tons of special features. I am hoping GL will get off his high horse and actualy include The Holliday Special as a bonus in the box set, would be very nice if he did that.

I'd be ok if he just included the Boba Fett intro cartoon from it.

If the bluray releases of the original trilogy include the crappy CGI additions, I'm afraid I'll take a pass. I'm sure they will as George seems to somehow think they're an improvement. I think the reason the original three were so much better than the "prequel" trilogy was b/c he didn't have nearly as much creative control. Imagine how good they could have been if a reputable screenwriter had written them!

I believe he wants the Holiday special to die a lonely quiet death never to be seen or heard from again.

Yes, he is a tool. A big one. The original Halloween is already available on Blu and a rather nice transfer considering it was low budget horror film released in 1978. The first Friday the 13 is due in Feb and you can order an import of Nightmare on Elm Street from Canada on the Amazon Canada site.

The rights to release Halloween is owned by Anchor Bay. So that's no surprise.

But you see Lucas made sure the original negative and other prints he could find were destroyed. Meaning the only version that could provide us a HD transfer is the 2004 special editions. Because Lowry Digital would still have the 2K scans of that. They might have the original negative scan but Lucas would of probably asked them to delete it. Lets hope Lowry Digital still has the 2k scans of the negative and if Lucas dies and his children decide to release them we will finally have HD transfers of the untouched original trilogy.

I have a feeling that just maybe The Phantom Menace might get released on Blu-Ray in 09.

100% correct. Georgie boy is going to milk the BD release of Star Wars for every penny he can get.

Ah, remember the days when George was...EVIL! for not releasing "Phantom Menace" right away?
(Rather than the theory that he might've been using his time, say, finishing CGI Deleted-scenes for the DVD, that wouldn't have been on the VHS or VCD?)

Similarly, I don't recall any "reluctance" to release Indy 4, as opposed to Paramount's "reluctance" to convert the entire Old-Trilogy Boxset, as this was two months after their re-conversion back to Blu, and their limited resources were being spent on New releases?
What IS it about Lucas that brings out the loopy conspiracy theorist in his fans?*
(* - Well, mean, we already know what it is, that was just a rhetorical question... )

Oh, if you want to see Toy Story in 1080, just rent "The Pixar Story" on the Wall-E bonus disk.
