Yeah it happened like this:

Spielberg: Hey George, I'm coming over. I've got Close Encounters on blu-ray, you really have to see this man.

Lucas: Okay, I got popcorn and beer!

An hour later, Steve and George are settling in George's massive theater at Skywalker Ranch.

Lucas: So what is this blu-ray I've been hearing so much about?

Spielberg: It's the ultimate in high definition that'll make your movies look and sound out of this world.

Lucas: Well shit man, what are you waiting for then? Push play already.

Spielberg and Lucas sit through the entire feature in silence, completely mesmerized by the crisp 1080p picture. By the end their ears are ringing, but they turn to each other wearing wide smiles.

Lucas: You know, $teve, maybe you were right. I think my $ix little movie$ would look pretty on blu-ray. I'm going to relea$e them all before Chri$tma$ and keep all my fan$ happy, and $ingle handedly end thi$ format war once and for all!

Spielberg: Yay, let'$ build bigger vault$!!!!
