I just finished rewatching season 1 on BD, definitely better viewing it over a few days than waiting 8 weeks and after you've seen it once already you can pick up certain things better and notice the links.
My main thing though, Lenny was the SK and all, but why do they talk about her so much in the beginning if she's just in David's head? In episode 1 during group therapy, the doctor taps his ears to seemingly tell Lenny to take off the headphones but then near the end of it they show her sitting right beside a guy with his sweater way up over his face and ears, so was he talking to Lenny or the guy? Then David-as-Sid saw her in the wall and it seemed like Dr. Kissinger did too, and Sid said she thinks she killed his friend when she was Sid-as-David and the D3 guy also said "a girl is dead!" I could see maybe the D3 guy just playing along as a way to get David to open up in the interrogation, but David was out of his body when he saw her in the wall so clearly SOMEBODY was in the wall because at that point, David wasn't sharing space with the SK. So, was Lenny real and in Clockworks but the SK used her face to screw with David and overwrote the Benny memories with Lenny to further a connection to feed on? If Lenny WAS real and when David goes to his sister's and sees Lenny, that could possibly be an indication of his personality absorption powers but was just overlooked because of all the rest of the show. |

I think David's comic ability of absorbing personalities was the original intention following the Clockworks incident. But, since Audrey wanted to keep the male lines, it made more sense to have the Shadow King do memory tampering instead. The showrunner has said numerous times he doesn't plan to stick to the Legion comics. He likes the concept, but doesn't want to be tied to it. I don't believe we'll be seeing David's hundred of competing personalities. Probably 1 or 2 hitchhikers per season at most. He'll most likely continue to personify his psych like with making a "Rational David" with the British accent. Which is "Real David"'s natural mutation. |
