Awesome. I just watched this the other night. I love how batshit crazy the concept of this film is. That Warner blu-ray is way too dark so hopefully Criterion can fix the brightness some.

I though the contrast was pretty extreme when I watched it a few days ago. It has the contrast/colors and textures you'd see on a scan of a release print.

I honestly think it could happen eventually. The fact that WB is finally licensing titles out to companies like Criterion and Shout Factory when they were notoriously against such a practice in the first place is a good sign that the times are changing.

Holy shit, i cannot wait to get this and upgrade my old DVD to get this.

Enjoyed this for a long time and saw this on cable when i was 5 back in 86 and thought it was a trippy as hell sci-fi movie with great make up effects.

I know right? All of the outdoor scenes look like they were shot at dusk, which is not how I remember it looking before. Everything just seems so damn gray in that presentation.

I hope this doesn't come off as snobbish, but is this a "Criterion-esque" title? I ask because this leak, along with the others that ShellOilJunior found seem a little strange. The Kelley Reichardt films for instance are with Oscilloscope Pictures, and I don't think they've ever licensed anything to Criterion before.

Not sure if it's still there, but Shudder recently had it too. If it can pop up there, I'm sure we can expect it from someone in the future.

I sure hope so, though I suspect it's not about their attitude about licensing as much as it is about their not wanting The Devils to get a wider release. They only let BFI release it on DVD, not on Blu-Ray, and this was in 2012, well into the Blu-Ray era. And I believe they have not released it in the US in any format.
