from the trailer it looks like it actually might "deliver" more. I could very well be wrong, it seems like they just can't make a good vigilante movie like they did decades ago... PC Hollywood perhaps.. I don't know.

no, I don't think so--- was looking for action yes, maybe some style, some suspense... maybe a satisfying ending... maybe Willis doing a better job than normal...

Not looking to make a point here but I get where you're coming from.
If you want more delivered in your vigilante flicks, that's cool but that recent Death Wish was intended to be a little closer to the original, which didn't have non stop blowing away of bad guys. I actually enjoyed that new Death Wish and felt it did the job pretty well.
As for Peppermint, it looks like it'll deliver on the action given its director but I see it more as an action flick of the old days where you forget plausibility and suspend disbelief like Taken and Colombiana.
I'm gonna check it out when it opens but I already know what to expect before going in.
