You do realise hooligans will fight ANY rival fans right. You are contradicting yourself by saying the Russians are scaring us away. That would suggest we expected trouble from the hosts fans so by staying away surely that would be common sense? Hardly the actions of hooligans?

Spain v Portugal is still the best match so far i agree and hope we get something like it again.

I’m not condemning a whole country,that would suggest that every English national was a hooligan which isn’t the case for any country but yous do cause trouble almost everywhere yous go.....The Irish don’t,both sets of fans,north and south were given an award at the last Euros in relation to such.

I’ll patiently wait on England being given such.

I think this thread needs VAR. It went down the crapper when, lemme see, someone mentioned England's fans vis-a-vis hooliganism in no other context than to get a rise out of someone. A lot of fans didn't go, so obviously they're running scared of big bad Mr Russian Hooligan (that or his Novichok), but if we turned up in droves and trashed the place then we'd be labelled as hooligans. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

That's not "common sense" (© tob), that's someone with an axe to grind and boy, is it ever being ground. It'll be worn down to a blunt nub if England were to actually do well, whereupon there would be yet more digs about fans, about how poor the opposition were, etc etc. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I tell you what, chaps: as predictable as the wider English response has been to the start of this campaign, the pushback has been just as predictable. Carry on!
